Range of Application

The AC motor starting capacitor is used in the starting circuit of capacitor start induction motors. It helps in creating a phase shift of approximately 90 o between the starting and running windings of the motor. After starting, the motor continues to run on the main winding alone. Therefore, despite the low starting current due to the action of the capacitor, it provides a significant starting torque, making it suitable for motors that require a high starting torque, such as heavy-load motors.

Rated frequency 50HZ AND/OR 60HZ (The resistance between terminals and between the terminal and the case should be 2,000MΩ or higher.)
Withstand voltage test The insulation should withstand 1500VDC for 1 minute without breakdown between the terminals and between the terminal and the case.
Overvoltage Test The capacitor should withstand an applied voltage of 1.4 times the rated voltage for 30 seconds or 1.5 times the rated voltage for 120 seconds without any significant external abnormalities.
Loss It should be within 0.15% when measured under conditions of 20°C or 75°C at 60Hz.
